Reports: Photojournalists Not Allowed to Enter Gaza

THIS NEWS FOUND AT: PDNPulse

The Australian newspaper reports that news photographers are playing cat-and-mouse with the Israeli military as they try to cover the fighting in Gaza. The report says:

"Creeping through the undergrowth, a handful of photographers stop
several hundred metres from two of Israel's big guns, waiting to catch
on film the precise moment the cannons blast their payload towards
Gaza. Those who are caught - and Israel's military police are everywhere -
are arrested, their cameras seized and, in some cases, the images
erased. Others say they have been held at gunpoint."

The Associated Press also has a story about Israel's refusal to allow the international press into Gaza. The AP and other agencies are relying on Palestinian reporters for news from Gaza.

CNN's Anderson Cooper has a video report (below) about Israel's refusal to embed reporters with its military operations, as well as heavy-handed press controls by Hamas in Gaza. Note the footage of international journalists crowded on a hilltop, trying to film and photograph the conflict from afar using long lenses.
