Still No Deal To Save JPG Magazine

THIS NEWS FOUND AT: PDNPulse

JpgmaglogoIt has been a strange January for JPG Magazine.

When we last checked in with JPG, the publishers at 8020 Media were claiming 20 bidders were trying to buy the shuttered photo magazine and resume publishing it.

There were other reassuring signs from JPG leadership. On January 12 – seven days after announced shutdown date of jpgmag.com – editor-in-chief Laura Brunow Miner posted: "We will be keeping the site up after all, and hope to have a final update in the next week or so on who the acquirer will be." A rumor surfaced that all sorts of tech companies were bidding for the magazine, including Flickr!

Today there is still no deal. In a short and unspecific post Saturday, JPG COO Devin Poolman writes that "This process has taken longer than we all want" and the magazine hopes to reach an agreement "very soon."

We will believe it when we see it.
